Joyeux Noel!

Ahhh.... Christmas!

Every child on the face of earth, from my knowledege, must love the holidays. I mean, there's amazing food, giving, getting, music, beautiful scenery, c'mon, you have to love it.

When I was a little girl, I would bake sparkely cookies with lovely decorations, I couldn't wait to give them to Santa Claus later on. Even if there would only be maybe 4 left to give to him (i liked to eat while I baked). I would be soooo excited to put them on the table near the front door.

I remember decorating the tree with Mummy and Daddy a week or two before Chritmas, we would put on Christmas songs, like Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra and Dianna Krall. We would bring out the ornaments and decorate 'till we thought we would pass out. Good times!

I remembergoing to sleep on Chritmas Eve, shaking with excitement, knowing that Christmas was just hours away. I would sleep for maybe 6 hours and then wake up at 5:00 in the morning, running in with my stocking to my parents room.

"MUMMY, DADDY, WAKE UP, WAKE UP, IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!"

I would scream, leaping onto their bed! They would groan, and say:

"Isabel, go back to bed, it's too early..."

"BUT I CAN'T SLEEP, IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!" I'd reply.

"There's a magazine in your stocking, read it if you want..." They would say, while yawning.

I would race into my bedroom again, take out the magazine and ead it over a million times until it was a bettertime to wake up Mummy and Daddy again. Then the day would begin, and it would be just the best day of the year!

. . .

. . .

I wish something truly amazing would happen to me. Something big. Really big.

It bugs me that my life, and maybe some of your lives, are so... so... nothing. You do that same thing every day, you eat the same thing for breakfast every day, you get up at the same time every day, you go to bed at the same time every day, and so on.

Yes, I do admit that my life is very nice and for the most part exciting. But does exciting mean different? Maybe. Maybe not.

My life is very much the same every day. Go to school, not understand some parts of Math, always excited for English class to arrive second period, always dread History after English. Then after History, thank God it's lunch.

But that's just with school.

I come home after school, grab a snack, do my homework, go on the computer for a bit, watch TV, my parents get home, we talk about our day, then have diner, watch TV/movie. Go to bed. And the same thing happens again tomorrow.

But tell me this:

What would you do if you DIDN'T have a scheduled life? It would be all over the place. There, I answered it for you.

Miracles

Miracles.

I am writing this blog because I watched the movie 'Charlotte's Web'...and as usual, I was close to tears. People said in the movie that Charlotte's web was a miracle. In my opinion; they are correct.

What is a miracle? It's something that is truly miraculous and amazing, it's something that people thought would be impossible. But if a miracle does happen, then it's just obvious that it's not impossible.

For an example: People say that there will be an anti-Christ. In my opinion, that will be a miracle. I mean, it's facinating; Jesus Christ coming down in the form of something or someone. Who doesn't find that interesting?!

Life itself is a miracle. Life is something that we all take forgranted, and it doesn't come as interesting to us because it's something we've all known and gotten used to. But look deeper into the situation: something, SOMETHING, managed to form a brain, and a soul, and a human body, that all works. That all functions properly. I mean...us. Us. Human beings. How does our body figure out how to tell our fingers how to move? Well, the brain does that. But how does the brain work? Who taught the brain how to? There, my friends, is a question no one will ever know.

Likes and Dislikes...WHY?

Likes and Dislikes...WHY?

You know, I wonder, while I'm typing this, why do I write these posts on 'quirk-spot?' There is simply one reason for it: BECAUSE I LIKE TO!

The thing is; is why do we like or dislike things? How were we made to like this or not like that?

See, I do very much like my mother's pasta, but I absolutely despise the asparagus she gives me for dinner. But why? Why do I have that urge to gag when I see grilled cheese sandwiches, ugh, with their dripping cheese and hard bread... it just grosses me out. But then again, why when I hear the word 'cookie' I am suddenly energetic, even though I am quite tired?

Is it something I've just known for a long time? Food wise; is it my taste buds taking over my entire body?

How will I know?

Do YOU know? If you do, contact me.

Time...

Time...

Well, what do you think? Does time pass slowly or does it pass by fast? For me, there's no correct answer.

Example: I was at my house waiting to go to my friend's house. Time was going by slowly, and I just couldn't wait to get to her house. But when I got there; time went by so fast, and now there's just not enough. Here I am at her house right now; typing this, while knowing that I only have a few hours left with her.

Sad... I know.

It makes me think how much time I actually have. It's been 18 hours. Haha, and for me just to do that math took me...well, I don't know. :P

The answer to this is that there's is no answer to it. Time goes by slowly, or there's just not enough.

All in all, for me, I would prefer time to go by slowly. There's just so many hours in a day, and days in a year, and the years in your life and mine; I would want to savor every minute of it. Since, you know, I'm a pretty happy and eccentric person, I find that it would be better to live every minute of it in it's full. Wow... am I making any sense here?

What about you?

The Keys to Being Quirky!

The Keys to Being Quirky!

1. Do you hysterically laugh over nothing in particular?

2. Do you dress in a flamboyant manner?

3. Do you think up of random names for friends, family, or pets?

4. Do you have imaginary friends? (Don't worry, it's cool if you do!)

5. Are you creative?

6. Do you think you are weird? (In a GOOD way)

7. Do you sing to yourself when you're walking down the street?

8. Do you see the world in a slightly more artistic way?

9. Do you have a different taste in music, clothes, how you do your hair?

10. Are you reading this blog? Do you care? If you don't: WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE, WASTING YOUR TIME IF YOU DON'T CARE?

2 and under - NEVER! You are about as far from quirky as possible.

3-5 - Meh. Not really, you have one speck of quirkiness running through your blood stream.

6-8 - Yeah! you're quirky! (If you have 6 'yeses' you are put under the category of 'kinda, sorta')

8-10 - WOW! you scored high! You are one of us: a quirk, congrads to YOU! Long Live Quirky... you will carry on the quirkiness.
